聖地巡礼, Seichi Junrei

So 聖地巡礼 (lit. "Pilgrimage to a sacred place") is the idea of visiting places depicted in media, often manga, anime, or video games. It's essentially real-life questing, and I think that's kinda neat.

I only became aware of the term 4 years deep into learning Japanese, and while I don't watch much anime, I've extensively used manga as a tool for reading practice. Fortunately for me then, I have a good backlog of places to visit on future trips to Japan!
