2021-12-25 M31 Andromeda Galaxy
My first attempt at photographing Messier 31, the Andromeda Galaxy.
While tiny, the M31 is clearly visible in the image center. It is quite blurry and without much detail due to the lens size, but most of the galaxy width is present. The Milky Way outer rim is visible stretching across the image upper right.
Zooming in and squinting, one can barely see M110 just by M31's side, while M32 is completely invisible.
One thing to note is that the blue halo around strong white-blue stars like 35 And is likely an artifact and should not be that pronounced.
I have included the B-V Index of a few stars for color reference.
- 35 And: -0.12, Blue-White
- 37 And: +0.13, Blue-White
- Mirach: +1.58, Redder
- EG And: +1.61, Redder
Values were found using Stellarium.
