2022-11-05 Cygnus Region
Again an unplanned shoot. The weather forecast was dark clouds and endless rain, but suddenly, a small hour in the evening, the skies opened up. I did, of course, leave my tripod back home, but fortunately for me, the Cygnus Region was just overhead, so I just laid the camera on the ground.
While the Moon shone really bright this evening (96% full), causing the white glow gradient seen from the left, the Cygnus Region did reveal some of the beautiful colors in its many nebulae.
Just left of Deneb, the bright star in the middle, you see the North America Nebula. On the lower right of Deneb, traces of the Butterly Nebula and neighbours can be seen in some detail.
Comparison
This region is just below what I shot a few months back, 2022-09-02 Milky Way Rim. You can see that I was able to extract much less contrast this time, mostly due to the Moon and time, but the colors are pretty similar. Would be fun to mosaic the whole milky way at some point.
